Waiting on Wednesday – Spirit and Dust

September 19, 2012

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I’m anticipating Spirit and Dust by Rosemary Clement Moore. I just love the synopsis. A girl who can talk to the dead, the FBI and the mob – what’s not to like.

Spirit and Dust – Rosemary Clement-Moore

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal
Published: May 14th, 2013

Daisy Goodnight can speak to the dead. It’s not the result of a head injury or some near-death experience. She was just born that way. And she’s really good at it. Good enough to help the police solve the occasional homicide.

But helping the local authorities clear cold cases is one thing. Being whisked out of chemistry class by the FBI and flown to the scene of a murder/kidnapping in Minnesota? That’s the real deal.

Before the promotion can go to Daisy’s head, she’s up to her neck in trouble. The spirits are talking, and they’re terrified. There’s a real living girl in danger. And when Daisy is kidnapped by a crime boss with no scruples about using magic—and Daisy—to get what he wants, it looks like hers is the next soul on the line.

This sounded great… until I got to the “crime boss” part. Now all I can think of is Boardwalk Empire mashed with YA paranormal fiction. Bizarre! 🙂 Hope it is a great read-

Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to read Spirit and Dust. I loved Texas Gothic so much! One of my favorite books I’ve read this year. Have you also read Splendor Falls by Rosemary Clement-Moore? I liked it, but not as much as Texas Gothic.

I haven’t read any of Rosemary Clement-Moore’s books yet. I’m going to start with Texas Gothic.
